In the light of day.

Dean woke slowly the next morning, his mind sluggish and disoriented. The first thing he noticed was that he wasn't alone. He laid on his side with another person's arms around him and a warm body pressed up against his back. It wasn't his room at the motel, either. The bed was too comfortable and the sheets smelled clean, not musty.

Without opening his eyes, Dean laid there and tried to think back over the night before. There was no hangover, so he couldn't have been drunk, but his memory was hazy anyway. He remembered checking out a club that was said to be suspicious...

Couldn't really remember going inside, although his mind kept producing hazy images of him on his knees and the smell of sex. Which, really, wasn't the worst thing in the world, but it would be nice to remember it. Some worrisome thought was niggling at the back of his mind, but he couldn't quite make it come forward.

Slowly, Dean opened his eyes and looked back over his shoulder at the man laying behind him.

Dean started the engine and took a moment to pop one of the new tapes into his tape deck. Then he pulled out of the parking lot. "Where to, boss man?"

"Go straight. I'll let you know when to turn." The toy shop he had in mind wasn't too far exactly, but enough that walking there would be a pain in the ass.

"Alright." Dean followed the directions easily. He glanced over at Nathaniel while he drove. "What do you think?"

"The car? It's nice. I can see why you like it so much." He glanced over and flashed a quick smile. "Looks like you take good care of it too."

"Thanks. I do. It's the only thing I have that's worth anything." Plus it was his home and part of his family. Nobody else understood his attachment, but that was fine. His baby understood.

"You ever think you might want more than a car sometime?" Dean still had to be pretty young though, from the looks of it. Nathaniel could definitely see not wanting to settle down for awhile yet at least, but he couldn't help but wonder if it ever crossed his mind.

"Find a place somewhere?"

That was a question he asked himself often. Especially after Sam left insisting there was more to life than hunting. Dad didn't see it that way, of course. Even so, sometimes he caught himself wondering...

"Yeah, sometimes." He glanced over at Nathaniel curiously. "How'd you decide to do it?"

"Guess I just got tired of. Nothing seemed to change and I didn't want to spend my whole life on the road chasing something I might not get." But here, he had the opportunity to do something, even if it wasn't what he originally wanted.

"And it's nice, for me anyway, to have somewhere to come home too finally. Life on the road has its moments, a lot of them, but it gets kind of old after awhile, doesn't it?" Or for him, it had anyway.

"Yeah, that it does." There were moments, certainly, but at least lately there were a lot more lonely ones. Lonely, bored, sometimes frightening... it wasn't something he wanted to do forever, even if he kind of thought he didn't really have a choice.

"I'm glad you found a place. Something to make you happy."

He shot a brief smile over at that. "Hopefully you'll find something like that too... one day at least."

He was still young... had plenty of time to find something for himself. Though Nathaniel was kinda glad this life had somehow led Dean into his life. Been an interesting few days.

"Turn left up here."

"Thanks. I hope so." Maybe someday. In the meantime, Dean was definitely enjoying this particular twist of fate. He was kind of hoping he'd be seeing a lot more of Nathaniel.

He took the left turn as instructed and drove on. Not long after the turn, he saw some neon signs up ahead. That seemed like their place. The blacked out windows helped, too.

"Here we are." He turned to flash Dean a grin. That was definitely the place... not the most discreet. Pretty obvious what it was really.

"Ready to go in and pick up a few things?"

Dean parked and turned to grin back at Nathaniel. No, definitely not discreet, but that was alright. Dean wasn't too concerned about discretion.

"Yes, master," he teased and winked at the other man. Then he reached for the door handle and slipped out of the car, sliding the keys into his pocket.

He slipped out of the car, reaching out to give Dean a playful swat to the ass before he went to push his way into the store. Once inside, he glanced around a little as they made their way towards the section with the collars and the like.

"See anything you want to look at, don't let me stop you."

Dean laughed at the swat and followed Nathaniel into the store. He'd been in one or two of these stores before, so he wasn't completely new to it, but it had been a while. He followed Nathaniel back to a rack of collars and stepped up to look through them for one he liked.

"Is there anything you wanted to look for?" He asked curiously while he flipped through the collars.

"Should probably get a smaller plug or two..." Since Dean was going to be wearing it while he worked. He looked through the collars, reaching out to brush his fingers over a couple of them.

"So, what kind do you like?"

Oh, he liked the sound of that. Dean flashed him a grin. They'd have to look over in that section next.

"I like the ones with the hanging rings. Otherwise, not too picky. Long as it's not pink." He nudged Nathaniel lightly with his shoulder. "What kind do you like? Since you're the one who'll be seeing it."

"Pink," he teased and looked over the selection the store had. He found a brown leather one that caught his eye and took it in hand, inspecting it. He held it over to Dean.

"How do you like this one?"

"Dude, the sex better be spectacular if I have to wear pink to get it." He reached out to take the collar from Nathaniel and inspected it. It was slightly heavy and padded with softer leather inside to make it comfortable to wear.

"Looks good." He lifted it to his neck to see how it looked. "What do you think?"

"Hey, what are you saying about the sex so far? Don't tell me I have to step up my game more."

Nathaniel watched a Dean held it up to his neck, inspecting it thoughtfully. "I like it. Try that black one with the few studs over there first."

"Wait... so you're saying if I say the sex is less than spectacular, you'll try harder?" Dean looked over and waggled his eyebrows at the other man, then he put the brown collar down to pick up the black one Nathaniel pointed to. It was similarly heavy and padded. The studs looked pretty good, too. Normally he wasn't too fond of them, but there weren't so many that it made him feel like he was wearing a dog collar.

He held it up to his neck and looked over at him. "Better?"

"Or leave you alone with that machine... you can just entertain yourself." He flashed a teasing look at Dean before looking over the collar. Huh, not bad... not sure he was as fond of it as some of the other.

"Thinking the other looks better on you actually."

"And here I thought you liked watching." Dean grinned and put the black collar back. They both felt pretty good, so he was happy to go with whichever one looked better to Nathaniel. "Sounds good to me."

"Yeah, well... I definitely do sometime." He smirked a little bit, eyes raking over Dean as he put the other collar back. "You were a show worth watching too."

Alright, collar could be marked off the list. "Guess we can look around and see if there's anything else we need?"

"I like to keep you interested." Dean returned that smirk and held onto the new collar happily as they moved on. "Sounds good. Maybe we'll find those plugs you mentioned."
